Young Horse Program

***PLEASE NOTE: Our typical Young Horse course specifications have been suspended until the show season can get back to normal, and course levels will be built to the course designer’s discretions, while using the existing specifications as a guideline. Heights and dimensions will be respected.
The Jump Alberta Young Horse series was developed to provide a standardized series of competitions that will enable Alberta horse owners, breeders, and riders to develop their young horses to the best of their potential in sport.

Throughout the year, the difficulty, technicality and height of courses for each age group will increase, in accordance with a horse that is developing early in its career. The finals for each age group will be run at the Jump Alberta Fall Finale show over 2 days. 4 year olds jump up to 1.0M, 5 year olds jump up to 1.10m, 6 year olds jump up to 1.20m and 7 year olds jump up to 1.25m. For scoring, course requirements, tack and restrictions, download the document here.
