Meet the 2018 Symposium presenter: John Turner.
A veteran of the show ring for more than 40 years, John started his riding and training career in California. John moved to the Northwest in 1979 and officially formed Thumbs Up Farm in 1986 with his partner, Jack. His expertise in training horses and educating riders has produced numerous champions at the regional and national level and award winners in Zone 9 of the USEF and USHJA, WSHJA, and World Champion Hunter Rider Programs.
John is known for his uncanny ability to match horses and riders to create winning teams. He has an amazing ability to observe a horse and quickly devise safe, kind and effective training and riding strategies to solve problems and create success.
John’s clinics are in demand as they are educational as well as entertaining. His affable personality and no-nonsense approach to riding, teaching and training account for the continued success of his clients.
