Jump Alberta Symposium
is Nov. 16-18, 2018.

Dear trainers, coaches, Jump Alberta members, and parents:
Welcome to the 2018 edition of the Jump Alberta Symposium!

This year’s event is held over 3 days; the evening of Nov. 16th is a special hosted event (open to all Symposium registrants).

Nov. 17 & 18th: Symposium presentation at Rocky Mountain Show Jumping
This year’s presenters are Raymond Texel (Jumpers) & John Turner (Hunters & Equitation).

Raymond and John boast expansive professional resumes – both as riders and coaches, and Jump Alberta is thrilled provide the exceptional opportunity of education and learning at this year’s event!

There has been an adjustment to the original agenda; the current working agenda is as follows:

Friday Night; 6:30pm
Lisa Carlsen – Canadian Team ‘30’
Host Location: Sirocco Golf Course

Lisa will share her stories of Canadian Team Membership in 1988 and 2018: the excitement, the challenges, and the development and highlights of her professional career over the past 30 years.

Hosted by Jump Alberta and moderated by Ann Laing (JA Board of Directors Member) –this evening promises to be one not to be missed.

Saturday; 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Host Location: Rocky Mountain Show Jumping
This day will host a variety of demonstration riders; from the young horse developing prospect level to the competitive 1.50m level; including Hunter Derby horses; CET riders, and all levels in between.

At 4pm – the demonstration component of the day’s agenda will conclude and Jump Alberta will host a ‘wine & cheese’ conformation presentation. Raymond and John will take the auditors through their evaluations and comments on several horses – both mature competition mounts and  hunter/jumper prospects.

Sunday; 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Host Location: Rocky Mountain Show Jumping
Sunday’s agenda will continue to develop on the progress and demonstrations from Saturday.

After the lunch break – Raymond and John will work independently with a selection of the weekend’s demonstration riders to present their favourite ‘key’ training exercises to address technique, training opportunities and challenges.
