The 5th Annual Jump Alberta Gala Awards event was held January 14, 2017 at The Deerfoot Inn. The

board was honoured to host 220 guests with a warm sense of community and congratulations for the

award winners. Caroline Jones emceed the evening presenting awards in approximately 50 categories

and divisions celebrating member’s success and acknowledging contributions and accomplishments

through the 2016 show season. Special acknowledgement was given to Alberta riders who went to the

CET National Medal Finals at the Royal Winter Fair; Jenna Lee Gottschlich (finished 4 th overall), Stephany

Powers, Anya Bereznicki, and Jade Fowler.


Throughout the year points are tallied from Jump Alberta sanctioned horse shows culminating in this

annual awards event. Awards for the Alberta Show Jumpers (ABSJ) Medal winners included: Marissa

Schmid & Parvati, Lindsay Beadle trainer; Hannah Gould & Duvel, Erin Taylor trainer; Carly Stevens &

Corona, Caryl Doty trainer; Erin Taylor was top trainer in the ABSJ medal series.

Several other special awards were presented including: Ultimate Jumper, Zeno; Hunter of the Year,

Maximilian; Most Improved Rider, Cayden Crowshaw; Trainer of the Year, Suzanne Morin Campbell; 3.6”

Hunter Derby Series Champion, Corneille – Rodney Tulloch Rider / Pat Beattie Owner; 3’0" Jr/Am Hunter

Derby Series Winner, Maximilian & Donna Rooney; Junior Sportsmanship, Paige Hess; Amateur

Sportsmanship, Barbara Jackson; and, Greenhawk Jr/Am 3’0” Hunter Classic Series, Barcelona & Grace

Neufeld; Volunteer of the year, Chantale Entz.
